My hair is dry, thick and a pain in the ****. need some help.?

i have really thick wavy dry hair. i like my hair straight but it just doesnt agree. i notice when i dyed my hair once when i got out of the shower and let it dry it was really um whats the word... soft... slim... silky... any way i really like the emo look but its really hard to keep it working for me... i also live on the coast... its really humide. so yeah if any one can help me keep the fluffy frizzyness down it would be appreciated... xo bret.

As far as the thick issue, when you get your hair cut, ask them to thin your hair. It will give you less hair to have to deal with. Get a good deep treatment conditioner that you can use once a week or every two weeks. Also, make sure you're using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and a frizz controlling product. If you aren't already using a flat iron, that would be a good investment to get that stick straight hair that seems to be part of the emo look.

Probably what caused the soft silky feeling of your hair when you dyed it was the deep conditioner they usually include in home dye kits. I always like the way my hair feels after I've dyed it!

Try using a soft but not too strong conditioner. Hot oil treatment is also nice. Plus eat fruits and veggies.

ok so u can get your hair razored at a salon to make in thiner. you can have silky thin THINk or you can have less thick than you have now. its your dession. also make sure u are blow drying your hair when u are straightening it, ( my salon said it isn much healthier for the hair, and makes straightening easier) hope i helped!!

try using areally good strong conditioner, like loreal paris or pantene pro-v (I use the pantene on me..!)

I used to have the exact same problems as you (with frizzy, puffy thick hair).

Try getting lots and lots of layers .. now that doesn't mean you have to go super short, but you can start from your chin or eyes down with the layers.

Get those layers thinned out with a set of thinning shears - from your hairstylist or local drugstore, etc.

good luck,

x

combined with a couple other answers (hot oil treatmenst deep condition etc) a good leave in conditioner will always get you through a bad hair day *frizzie free :D* i have the same hair type as you so a good one i can suggest for ya would be lacio lacio, it gets your hair REALLY soft and is also really good if you use heat often on your hair (curling irons etc) or sunsilk anti-poof (the blue bottle) styling aids is up there on my list :d hope that helps some
