im a guy, and my hair is naturally thick and i cant do anything with it. it naturally goes up and curls back, instead of going straight down. is there any product or thing i can do so it can be smooth and go down, so hats can fit better and i dont have to use gel ( cause also with gel, itll curl back, so it doesnt even look completely spiked ). is there any way to try to get it how i want it to?

Get your hair thinned with thinning scissors to reduce the thickness, then ask for a ionised permanent straightening treatment and then get the ends razor cut in blunt sections to take away culy, wispy ends. 3 steps!
Then in daily maintenance you will use a wax ( sparsely! ) to maintain a look plus the occasional use of a hair dryer.
