There are a lot of salons that will do extentions for you. Shop around first and see if it's a service they offer, because sometimes in smaller towns they don't have anyone on staff who knows how. You can get extentions no matter what kind of hair type you have (so thick shouldn't make a difference). You can glue them in, sew them in, or attach them to a clip so you can take them out whenever you want (I have a friend who does this and it works well).

If you're going to dye your hair soon, buy the extentions and have the stylist dye them at the same time as your hair so the color matches. Also, Jessica Simpson line of extention wear is amazing.
