Try a pink oil moisturizer. It will soften the hair, add a small amount of oil, and make it easier to comb.

You can buy detangling hair spray to spray in her hair. Also be very gentle and hold the top while you brush the bottom so she doesn't feel the tugging. There are also detangling shampoos/conditioners that get tangles out.

i actually have a neice that is the same way, i would go to your local doctor or your daughters doctor and see what he can do about this, there are many medicines that are appropriate for her age that will help with this problem, another thing for you to try is, when you brush her hair... hold the top of it with your hand of course, then brush from bottom to top, it will help because it wont hurt near as much. hope you find something that works, good luck ;]

Try to wash her hair with cream-based shampoo (not the clear looking ones) and I love the Kiehl's #133 conditioner - it makes your hair really soft and can be used as a leave-in conditioner too.

I had the same problem for a long time when i was little. My hair is thick and naturally curly and I can still remember people trying to brush my hair and just pulling it instead.

First always condition her hair and use some leave in conditioner after her hair is cleaned. If you think the products are building up, once a week wash her hair with a clarifying shampoo.

I think the most important thing though is how you brush her hair. you should always use a brush And start brushing from the ends and work your way up to the top. That will work the tangles out of her hair slowly instead of ripping the brush through her hair from the top of her head down. My little sister wouldn't let anyone else touch her hair after i started brushing it. Ive also had to do the same thing for some of the other kids in the family once in awhile.

But the best thing I found , for ALL hair types is the Remmington Tangle Tamer. This is a rechargable comb. It works great.

if u areblack ther is that certain shampoo that is detangle shampoo and also u have to hurry and do the hair while it is still wet that is how my cousin hair is and when it drys it gets very messy
